Marlyn Sanchez was born and raised in Miami, Florida of Cuban and Lebanese descent, Marlyn (pronounced: mar-leen) was a natural performer as a child. Her inherent, unforced talent has been illustrated before audiences since age 7, at which time she sang and won the title of Little Miss Havana Cuba in her first pageant in Miami, Fla. Since then, Marlyn has nurtured her passion for performing and connecting with the public. Over the past eight years, her singing and acting has furthered propelled her career as a professional musical theatre actress. Leading roles she enjoyed performing most include Maria in West Side Story, Guinevere in Camelot and Christine in Phantom of the Opera.
Along with a lifetime of studying and actively working in her field, Ms. Sanchez has had the honor of studying classically, under the direction of Conductor, Thomas Cavendish of The Gold Coast Opera. She has performed in the operas La Traviata, Romeo and Juliet and The Student Prince.
Additionally, Marlyn’s flair for romancing the camera lens, as well as her audience, led her into commercial/print modeling for companies such as Bellsouth, Colgate and Caribelle Magazine. She has been a spokesmodel for Baby Phat, Ten Cane Rum, and Videospokespeople.com. She also appears in various nationwide commercials.
The wide-ranging experience and success from her acting, modeling and singing supplied Marlyn with the tools to produce and release her own Christmas CD, entitled “In the Spirit of Christmas.” Marlyn is currently working on original material for her upcoming album. Ms. Sanchez traveled to Egypt in January of 2008, where she represented Miss Cuba and won the Top Model of the World Competition. Marlyn also holds the title of Miss Caribbean 2008, in which she toured internationally to represent her platform: Women In Distress.
